Korean Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 1kg Chicken Wings
  • Cornflour
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Spring Onions (Chopped)
  • Vegetable Oil (for frying)

For the sauce

  • Large Chunk Ginger (Pealed and Chopped)
  • 3 Cloves Garlic (Chopped)
  • 9 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Gochujang Sauce
  • 3tsp sesame Oil
  • 3tbsp light soy sauce, +1 dark!

Method

  1. Make the sauce by combining all sauce ingredients in a pan and bring to a simmer. When simmering for a couple of minutes, turn off heat and leave .
  2. Season the wings (salt and pepper) and cover with flour.
  3. Shallow fry wings in work with a couple of cm oil. You may need to do this in a couple of batches to ensure all are cooked evenly. This will take 10mins or so
  4. When golden, drain off oil and pour over sauce. Heat through and add sesame seeds and sliced spring onions.
  5. Serve with rice!
