Braised Red Cabbage

Ingredients

1 Red cabbage
2 Bramley apples
2 Large onions
1 Clove garlic
½ tsp nutmeg
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
3 tbsp sugar
2oz Butter

Method

Method
Slice the cabbage and apples finely, removing the hard cores. Add to a heavy based casserole pot. Slice the onions and add with the finely chopped garlic.

Mix in the nutmeg, oil, vinegar and sugar.

Dot the top with butter.

Cook for 2 hours over a medium / low heat. Mix occasionally.
